Registration Check-in and Meet-n-Greet – [Registration starts at 1400 in the hospitality room (off the lobby) and continues throughout the reunion.]

Welcome Dinner — 1800 Reception, 1845 Dinner; Join us for a casual buffet of homestyle comfort food to help everyone settle in for the week and get to know their shipmates. We’ll include some fun ice-breakers to get things started. Dress is casual (but we hope you wear Navy gear!). (Ticketed event: $25)

Morning speaker/panel (Free event)—0930-1000; Captain Lloyd W. Fernald, Jr. USN (Ret)

Boot Camp Trivia Challenge –1000-1130; Easy-going competition with fun games supervised by Chief Robin Hamilton, followed by a free lunch for all registrants (Free event)

Coffee & Cake with the Company Commanders (Free event)—1230-1330

Open afternoon – tour on your own or relax at the hotel

Capone’s Dinner Theater —Bus departs at 1830; A really fun dinner theater, with lots of singing, dancing, and humor from 1930s Chicago. Enjoy the Italian/American all-you-can-eat buffet with unlimited beverages (including alcohol). Everyone in the place gets into the spirit, even the waitstaff! (Ticketed event: $35)

Service of Remembrance and Gratitude for those we have lost and all those who have served, immediately following breakfast; with Reverend Carol Christianson (Free event) 0900-1000

Free day to go explore the area, or Poolside hangout after lunch for those staying in, with some games and prizes (Free event)

Photo sessions before the banquet with Lee Browndorf (Free event); times will be announced at the reunion.

Blue Jacket Banquet — 1800 Reception, 1830 Colors, 1900 Speaker (Rear Admiral Linnea J. Sommer-Weddington), 1930 Dinner following by dancing; Our premier reunion event will include a sit-down dinner, awards and prizes, raffles, entertainment and dancing. Dress is BUSINESS CASUAL. (Ticketed event: $55)

Blue Jacket Park Visit — The site of the former RTC and NTC Orlando, to see the Lone Sailor Memorial, the new 30-foot history wall, and the Bluejacket Recruit (women’s statue). (Free event; program and transportation extra)

  • POVs depart at 0900
  • Bus departs at 1000

Blue Jacket Park Lunch — 1230; informal lunch at the Ramada Kissimmee (Ticketed event: $15)

Afternoon on your own

Central Florida Navy League Navy Birthday Ball (Tickets will be available from their web site in 2018.) Our car pool/rideshares depart at 1730; Events begin at 1800.

If you are not planning to attend the ball, we recommend Old Town Kissimmee, 4 miles from the hotel, for your evening entertainment, with lots of restaurants, shopping, rides, a free concert at 7 PM, and a classic car show with parade at 8:30 PM (per their website).

Mark your calendars for RTC Orlando Mini-Reunion 2019, tentatively scheduled for sunny San Diego! We will return to the Orlando, Florida area every even year. Every odd year, starting in 2019, we will travel to Navy towns and major historical destinations around the country.
